Typically, the Firewall prompts you to accept or refuse an app's attempt to access the internet. When you make your selection, the Firewall creates a rule to remember and enforce your choice. If an app does not have a rule allowing it to access the internet, your Firewall blocks the application to protect your computer. How to Block Programs and Apps Using Windows Defender Firewall Step 1: Press Windows + S keys together to open the Windows Search. Type firewall in the search location, and open Check firewall status from the results. This will open the Windows Defender Firewall program. In the Windows Firewall settings, click Advanced settings from the left menu. Click Outbound Rules from the left pane if you want to prevent the app from the sending outgoing traffic.
